“Historia de un Habano„

243/268

In the world there are few things which, no doubt, are better than others. One of these is the Habano.

It was the year 1492 when the Spanish expedition commanded by Christopher Columbus saw, for the first time, the tobacco in the New World. The Indians Tainos during a ceremony, they used a leaf mysterious called Cohiba, until then unknown.

From this point forward, for more than five hundred years, the tobacco was sold and planted all over the planet.

Since the beginning of its discovery, the Black Cuban Tobacco was considered the best in the world.

This is due to the unique characteristics that have some areas of Cuba, such as plantations.

The Cuban tobacco differs from other tobacco for flavor and aroma that emanates, and this depends on the union of four factors: the land, the climate, the variety of tobacco and the huge importance that the vegueros and torcedores.

Without one of these elements, you do not get the high quality of Cuban tobacco.

In fact it has been proved that, taking seeds of the plant Cuban and buried in other places, you did not have the same result. Lacked the soil and climate of Cuba

The vegueros or farmers, who treat tobacco plantations, they have learned, over the centuries, to work this land. A work made to wait until the leaf is not ready to pack a Habano.

All Cuban cigars are Habanos but not all the facts are in Cuba  Habanos. The title is the Habanos Protect Denomination of Origin (PDO) reserved to a strict selection of the most important factors which cigars are made, following strict rules, from tobacco leaves harvested in certain areas, also protected designation of origin .

The Habanos are made “Totally Hand”, applying methods Cubans who used it for the first time in Havana, more than two centuries ago, passed down from generation to generation, and which remained almost the same, up to the present day.

More than five hundred manual processes, including those agricultural and factory ones, are made from the time of planting to packaging in boxes of each Habano. These procedures must pass strict testing established by the Regulatory Council of the Protect Denomination of Origin (PDO), so that a cigar can take title to be considered a Habano.

Following, Italian version.

totalmente a mano
