My dear friends, this time I meet Nikki. She is violinist, vocalist, and entertainer for private luxury events and she specializes in serving the yacht builders, brokers, and owners.
when did you start to smoke cigar?
I started smoking cigars about 20 years ago.
why did you start to smoke cigar?
At the time, I was in a blues/rock band, and one night on a gig, one of the other musicians was smoking a cigarillo. I thought it looked cool, so I tried it! After a while, I moved up from the cigarillos to cigars.
how many cigars do you smoke during the day?
Usually 1 or 2, every couple of days – not quite a daily habit!
which is the best place you have smoked a cigar?
This is a tough one, as it really depends on what I’m in the mood for! For the solitary smoke, with a glass of champagne accompanied by glorious city views, the best place that I’ve smoked a cigar is on the rooftop patio of the Four Seasons Hotel in my hometown of St. Louis, MO. The best smoke I’ve had that perfectly captured the brotherhood/sisterhood of the leaf was at my local cigar shop, STL Cigars — good smokes, lots of different conversations, great friendly atmosphere! However, the best place that I hold close to my heart was at a private residence with an esteemed friend. Something about the night, the stories he told in front of the fire, the great cigars, the company — that’s what makes cigar smoking so special to me.
what do you use to cut the cigar?
I use a V-Cutter for about 95% of my cigars. My other preferred method is the bore.
how do you feel while you are smoking?
When I smoke I feel very relaxed and happy. I find smoking a soothing exercise, but I find that it also helps me to collect my thoughts — smoking and thinking go together so well for me!
when do you light your first cigar of the day?
It depends — sometimes I will enjoy a short stick on the the way to the office, other days I can’t get to it until early evening.
what is the cigar for you?
My go-to cigar right now is the La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli. I love its dark oily wrapper and great plumes of smoke. It pairs well whether I’m drinking bourbon, wine, or soda! 🙂
Thank you very much Nikki for your time. Good ashes.
