Let’s talk about the most famous Cuban Cigar Factory : Partagas.

The royal cigar factory , address Calle de la Industria 520 , was located in the center of Havana , behind the

Capitolio .

It was created in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas , before being purchased in 1900 by Ramon Cifuentes.

A Partagas cigar it is immediately recognizable by its rich flavor and intense. The character of its ligada is a richness and incomparable aroma .

Obviously, the tobacco for the Tripa and the capa comes from the region of Vuelta Abajo .

The vitolario of Partagas cigar is very broad and includes any format and size . Let’s see some .

Let’s start with a small cigar . The Partagas Shorts , a minuto with cepo 42 mm . 110, a cigar is not to be underestimated .

It combines all the characteristics of a Partagas , strength and peppery flavor . Great for the man who has little time but who likes a smoke decided. In the world you can find it in boxes of 25 pieces or cabinet 50.

The robusto, Partagas Serie D No. 4, is one of the world’s best selling cigars . Strong , spicy, it is recognized even just smelling it . Usually has a dark oily capa on which stands the anilla red with gold lettering . Best served with a rum or a single malt .

It is the first cigar smoke every time I go to Havana and each time I am surprised by the strength and aroma that emanates .

Very nice to see in boxes of 25 , a few years is also sold individually in black tube , which adds a very aggressive look .
A tip: when you go to a retailer of cigars and you’re in doubt about what to buy , buy a box of Series D No 4 . You will not regret .

We arrive at the undisputed king of the royal factory, Lusitanias . A prominentes , cepo 49 mm.194 , whose smoke is always a pleasure. Draw perfect. The taste never becomes bitter in the end.

I remember a dinner in Havana , offered by Diadema Spa, a company that imports and distributes Cuban cigars for the Italian territory . It was the month February , 2006 , if I’m not mistaken . I was in Cuba during the Festival del Habano , as a manager of La Casa del Habano in Rome.

At that dinner was present , among other guests , the head of the quality control of Partagas .She carried a bundle of Lusitanias without anilla , linked only by a yellow satin ribbon . Gentlemen, that was one of the best smoked in my life.

Unfortunately, the hectic life and anti-smoking laws are forcing us to reduce the consumption of Prominentes . But I think it’s worth take some in the humidor. Sooner or later, the day comes that there are two hours of time to devote to Lusitanias .

I could go on to mention other formats that are part of the Partagas brand . There are so many. I will just tell you another cigar that you will be amazed . The format is a dalia, cepo 43 mm.170 . It’s called 898, polished wooden box .

Smoke it, then tell me . I ‘m here waiting for you. And remember the saying: Partagas y nada mas.

Parliamo ora della fabbrica di sigari cubani più famosa: Partagas.

La reale fabbrica di sigari, sita in  calle de la Industria n.520, si trova nel centro de La Habana, alle spalle del Capitolio.

Fu creata nel 1845 da Don Jaime Partagas, per poi essere acquistata, nel 1900, da Ramon Cifuentes.

Un sigaro Partagas lo si riconosce subito dal suo sapore ricco ed intenso. Il carattere della sua ligada è di una ricchezza e aroma inimitabile. Naturalmente, il tabacco per la tripa e il capote proviene dalla zona di Vuelta Abajo.

Il vitolario di Partagas è molto ampio e comprende sigari di ogni formato e grandezza. Vediamone alcuni.

Iniziamo da un sigaro piccolo. Lo Shorts di Partagas, un minuto con cepo 42 per mm. 110, è un sigaro da non sottovalutare. Infatti racchiude in se tutte le caratteristiche di un Partagas, forza e sapore pepato. Ottimo per colui che ha poco tempo a disposizione ma che ama una fumata decisa. Nel mondo lo puoi trovare in scatole da 25 pezzi o in cabinet da 50.

Il robusto, Partagas Serie D n.4, è uno dei sigari più venduti al mondo. Forte, speziato, lo si riconosce anche solamente portandolo al naso.

Di solito presenta una capa scura oleosa sulla quale spicca la anilla rossa con le scritte color oro. Ottimo da abbinare con un rum o un single malt.

E’ il primo sigaro che fumo tutte le volte che mi reco a l’Avana e ogni volta ne rimango sorpreso per la forza e l’aroma che sprigiona.

Molto bello da vedere in scatole da 25, da qualche anno viene venduto  anche singolarmente in tubo nero, che aggiunge un look molto aggressivo.

Un consiglio: quando vai da un rivenditore di sigari e sei in dubbio su cosa acquistare, compra una scatola di Serie D n.4. Non  te ne pentirai.

Arriviamo al sovrano incontrastato della real fabbrica, il Lusitanias. Un prominentes, cepo 49 per mm.194, la cui fumata sarà sempre un piacere. Tiraggio perfetto. Il sapore  non diventa mai amaro alla fine.

Ricordo una cena a La Habana, offerta da Diadema Spa, società che importa e distribuisce i sigari cubani per il territorio italiano. Era il mese febbraio, anno 2006 , se non vado errato.  Mi trovavo a Cuba per il festival del Habano, in qualità di manager de La Casa del Habano di Roma.

A quella cena era presente, tra gli altri invitati, la responsabile del controllo di qualità di Partagas. Portò un fascio di Lusitanias privi di anilla, legati solamente da un nastro di raso giallo. Signori miei, quella fu una delle migliori fumate della mia vita.

Purtroppo la vita frenetica e le leggi contro il fumo ci costringono a diminuire il consumo di Prominentes. Credo però che valga la pena  tenerne alcuni nel humidor. Prima o poi arriva il giorno che troviamo due ore di tempo da dedicare al Lusitanias.

Potrei continuare a parlare di altri formati facenti parte della marca Partagas. Ce ne sono davvero molti. Mi limito a segnalarvi un altro sigaro che vi farà rimanere a bocca aperta. Il formato è un dalia, cepo 43 per mm.170. Si chiama 898, cofanetto in legno lucido. Fumatelo, poi mi direte. Io sono qui che vi aspetto.

E ricordate il detto: Partagas y nada mas.
