For MB Cigars Ladies we meet Xinia. She was born in El Salvador Central America and she came to Canada when she was 10yrs old… she is now 38yrs old, she lives in Toronto and she has an 11yr old daughter. And yes, you guessed it, she has a passion for cigars…
1)when did you start to smoke cigar?
I tried my first cigar back in 1996. I went to visit my cousin in California while I was on vacation from university. My cousin’s husband gave me my first cigar, it was Romeo y Julieta, and I loved it! After that, I would smoke cigars with them and as I tried more and more cigars I began to do it on my own in Toronto.
2)why did you start to smoke cigar?
I started smoking cigars for several reasons… It is very relaxing, and I also enjoy to socialize. I found that it is something I could do with friends or alone, either way, it is very enjoyable…. Every time I light up a cigar I have such amazing experiences, conversations and wonderful moments to remember… I smoke cigars for hours and share stories about places we have been, people we have met, and life in general… I also think it is empowering for a woman. I understand, respect and appreciate that this is a man’s industry, but it doesn’t mean a woman can’t smoke cigars like men do. I am a hard working individual and I too like to relax and have a cigar after work or on weekends. I have a very strong personality, for me, smoking a cigar is a very normal and natural thing to do… I am not a professional in the industry, just a regular person who enjoys to smoke cigars… I love to be able to smell the aromas in my hair and clothes for days after I’ve smoked a cigar. I love to open my humidor and smell all my cigars. I love to capture my cigar moments and share them with friends… These are the reasons why I started to smoke cigars…
3)how many cigars do you smoke during the day?
I smoke 1-5 cigars in one day. It really depends. Sometimes I don’t smoke at all during the week but on the weekend I make-up for it! When I am on vacation, specially in Cuba, I smoke at least 5 per day for sure…
4)which is the best place you have smoked a cigar?
I would say that for me, the best place where I have smoked a cigar is in Havana, Cuba… There’s just something about that place that I can’t explain. I sit back and enjoy the beautiful classic architecture, the ambiance, the people, the music, the food, the weather, the cigars…
5)what do you use to cut the cigar?
I use both a cutter or punch. I do like the punch more though, for some reason find that I taste the flavours more and it can be a much neater draw… I also prefer matches over lighters.
6)how do you feel while you are smoking?
This touches on my earlier answer for question #2. I feel great! it is empowering and relaxing all the while… I love the aromas wrapping themselves all over me, and I feel happy because I am spending quality time with my friends… As a woman, I also feel a sensual feeling overcome me. It is also a bit hard to explain but in my experience, it is a very good feeling. It is nothing demeaning or dirty. I know sex sells and as part of the industry you see a lot of beautiful models smoking cigars in order to advertise. However, for me, it is my passion, and I hope one day we narrow the gap between ladies and gentlemen who are cigar aficionados…
7)when do you light your first cigar of the day?
I just woke-up and I lit my first cigar to have with my coffee… It is a beautiful Saturday morning so I want to start my day right! Again, it really depends on the mood and how hectic my day will be… Some days I am not able to light my cigar until the evening, but that is ok, I have something wonderful to look forward to!
8)what is the cigar for you?
I love the big guage and long medium and full bodied cigars… One of my favorites is the Partagas Lusitanias. I love its rich earthy flavours and size… I prefer Cuban cigars over any others… I have tried many non Cuban cigars but my preference is CC’s.
Another great cigar smoker, another MB Cigar Lady.
